Language is a virus. Benefit for the Boston Film/Video Foundation, featuring Laurie Anderson, with opening performance by Roger Miller, of Mission of Burma & Birdsongs of the Mesozoic fame.
Designed in 1988, using Superpaint, a primal software program, and then silkscreend, happily combining technologies. I designed the typeface to have no hanging descenders, but instead to have all letterforms align on baseline, therefore being seen as having the ups and downs and readability of lower case, but also the monumental qualities of all caps. A prayer rug, of sorts.
At the show, at the Berklee Performance Center, I latter see the progams for the event which I designed littering the floor, for the first time realizing we design trash.
Three color silkscreen, on heavy white textured paper.
